when to use

A PROCESS 

WHEN YOU WANT TO FOCUS ON THE FUTURE RATHER THAN THE PAST

This process is very future-focused and results oriented, so works well if you want to focus yourr energy on forward motion rather than reflection on past experience.

Both forward motion and past reflection have very valuable and useful support to offer people – and what is best for you right now may be different to what is best at a different time. Only you will know which feels best for you personally right now.

IF YOU ARE A SELF-DISCIPLINED PERSON WHO JUST WANTS GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT

Using this process works really well if you’re relatively self-disciplined about taking action already, but you’re looking for some support to ensure you stay on track and you want to feel in control of your journey.

The process will support you in identifying and clarifying your goals, and then working towards them methodically, ensuring you keep on track – and giving you the tools to steer you back on course if things don’t go quite to plan.

It will give you a framework you can use and apply yourself, both whilst working with me as your coach and also when being self-directed in your personal development.

WHEN YOU WANT TO LEARN A REPEATABLE APPROACH TO ACHIEVING PERSONAL CHANGE

If you want to learn a framework that you can then re-use and re-use as often as you want for yourself, then using this process will work really well.

Not only will you learn what the process is, and how to apply it – but you’ll also be given lots of worksheets and templates to help you work through it which you’ll be able to re-use in future.

When NOT to use a process

Sometimes I do 1-2-1 coaching work with clients without using this process.

This is often because the client wants to explore feelings and experiences, and focus on making change at a more subtle level.

For example this may be more around finding a way to manage anxiety, to increase confidence, or how to overcome self-doubt. 

In this situation when I work 1-2-1 with you then we will will explore tools and approaches which gently support improvement on how you feel about yourself and your situation.
